Giving to Love Well Spent

Give generously. Know how your gift is handled.

These Donation Terms explain how Love Well Spent handles charitable contributions, recurring gifts, campaign donations, workplace giving, donated technology, receipts, and refund requests.

Effective September 2026
Organization Love Well Spent, Inc.
Status 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization

The short version

Your gift supports charitable work.

Love Well Spent receives charitable contributions to advance our mission and programs, including work that helps homeschool families overcome barriers to technology, internet access, and meaningful learning experiences.

Gifts may be made directly to Love Well Spent or through authorized payment processors, workplace-giving platforms, matching-gift programs, campaigns, and other giving channels.

We want donors to understand what happens when they give, including how designated gifts, recurring donations, receipts, donated devices, and refund requests are handled.

Your gift is entrusted to Love Well Spent.

We use charitable contributions to advance the purposes for which they were given while maintaining the flexibility reasonably necessary to operate programs responsibly, respond to changing needs, and fulfill our charitable mission.

Clear purpose. Responsible stewardship.

When a gift is connected to a particular campaign or program, we make reasonable efforts to use it for that charitable purpose.

01

Charitable Contributions

Donations to Love Well Spent are intended to support the organization's charitable mission and activities.

Unless otherwise stated, contributions are voluntary charitable gifts and are not payments made in exchange for a guaranteed personal benefit, service, device, grant, or other assistance.

Making a donation does not give a donor priority for a Love Well Spent program or create an entitlement to receive assistance from the organization.

02

Payment Processing

Love Well Spent may use third-party payment processors and giving platforms to process charitable contributions.

Depending on how a donor gives, the transaction may be processed through services such as Stripe, Benevity, an employer giving platform, a matching-gift provider, or another authorized service.

Those providers may have their own terms, privacy practices, processing schedules, and transaction procedures.

03

Designated & Restricted Gifts

A donor may sometimes be given the opportunity to indicate a preference that a contribution support a particular Love Well Spent program, campaign, initiative, or charitable purpose.

Love Well Spent will make reasonable efforts to honor accepted gift designations consistent with applicable law, donor communications, and the organization's charitable purposes.

If circumstances change

If a designated purpose is fully funded, completed, discontinued, materially changed, becomes impracticable, or can no longer reasonably use the funds as originally contemplated, Love Well Spent may seek donor direction when appropriate or use remaining funds for a substantially similar charitable purpose consistent with the organization's mission and applicable requirements.

04

Campaign Gifts

Love Well Spent may raise funds through specific campaigns that explain a current charitable need or goal.

Campaign amounts and examples are intended to help donors understand how contributions can support the work.

When Love Well Spent explains that a particular amount helps put a laptop into the hands of one family, the amount represents the charitable resources associated with advancing that work. It does not necessarily mean that every dollar of that particular donation will be traceable to one specific device or one individually identified recipient.

Funds may support reasonable costs necessary to accomplish the stated charitable purpose, including technology acquisition, fulfillment, shipping, program administration, partner coordination, and related expenses.

A campaign goal is not a spending ceiling.

If a campaign raises more than its stated goal or the immediate need changes, additional funds may be used to continue the same charitable work or a substantially similar Love Well Spent purpose, subject to applicable donor restrictions and law.

05

Recurring Donations

When a donor chooses a recurring contribution, the donor authorizes the applicable payment provider to process donations according to the frequency and amount selected when the recurring gift is established.

Recurring donations continue until canceled or otherwise ended according to the applicable payment method or platform.

Donors may request assistance canceling a Love Well Spent recurring donation by contacting us. Canceling a recurring gift stops future scheduled donations once the cancellation becomes effective and does not automatically refund gifts already processed.

06

Workplace Giving

Donors may be able to support Love Well Spent through an employer-sponsored giving program or workplace-giving platform such as Benevity.

Workplace donations may be subject to the employer's and platform's own rules regarding payroll deductions, eligibility, matching, processing schedules, campaign participation, donor information, and disbursement timing.

Love Well Spent does not control an employer's workplace giving policies or guarantee that an employer will match, approve, or process a particular gift.

07

Employer Matching Gifts

Some employers may match charitable contributions made by eligible employees.

Matching-gift eligibility, amounts, deadlines, documentation, exclusions, and approval decisions are determined by the employer or its giving-platform provider.

Love Well Spent may provide reasonable information or verification needed to support a matching-gift request, but we cannot guarantee that a match will be approved.

08

Donated Laptops, Tablets & Technology

Love Well Spent may accept donated laptops, tablets, computers, accessories, or other technology for charitable use.

Acceptance of a device does not guarantee that the exact donated item will be provided directly to a particular family.

Depending on condition, program needs, security, compatibility, repair requirements, or other considerations, donated technology may be:

  • provided to an eligible recipient;
  • prepared or refurbished for charitable use;
  • used to support a Love Well Spent program;
  • transferred to an appropriate fulfillment partner;
  • used for parts or repair when appropriate; or
  • responsibly recycled or otherwise handled when it cannot reasonably be placed into service.
Remove your personal information first.

Donors are responsible for backing up any information they wish to keep and removing personal accounts, passwords, activation locks, and personal data before transferring a device to Love Well Spent, unless LWS has expressly agreed to another process.

09

Real Estate & Other Non-Cash Property

Love Well Spent may consider gifts of real estate or other non-cash property on a case-by-case basis.

A donor's submission of information about proposed property does not require Love Well Spent to accept the gift.

Significant or complex non-cash gifts may require board, legal, tax, appraisal, insurance, or other professional review before acceptance.

10

Donation Receipts & Tax Matters

Love Well Spent will provide donation acknowledgments or receipts when appropriate and as required by applicable law.

Donors are responsible for determining the tax treatment of their contributions and should consult their own tax adviser when necessary.

Love Well Spent does not provide individual tax, legal, or financial advice.

For donated property, the donor is generally responsible for determining and substantiating the property's value.

11

Refunds & Donation Errors

Charitable contributions are generally considered final once processed.

If you believe a donation was made in error—for example, because of a duplicate transaction, incorrect amount, or another processing mistake—contact Love Well Spent as soon as reasonably possible.

Refund requests will be reviewed individually. Approval may depend on the circumstances, timing of the request, payment method, whether funds have already been committed or used, platform rules, and applicable legal or accounting requirements.

Refunds are not automatic.

Submitting a refund request does not guarantee that a charitable contribution can or will be returned.

12

Payment Disputes & Chargebacks

If you believe there is an error involving a donation, please contact Love Well Spent before initiating a payment dispute when reasonably possible.

Nothing in these terms prevents a donor from exercising rights available under applicable law or through the donor's payment provider.

13

Donor Recognition

Love Well Spent may recognize donors or supporters when appropriate, but making a contribution does not require a donor to be publicly identified unless disclosure is required by law.

Donors who prefer not to be publicly recognized may communicate that preference to Love Well Spent.

14

Donor Privacy

Love Well Spent uses donor information for legitimate purposes such as processing and recording gifts, acknowledgments, receipts, donor communications, stewardship, financial administration, reporting, fraud prevention, and legal compliance.

Love Well Spent does not sell donor lists for another organization's independent fundraising or marketing use.

Additional information is available in our Privacy Policy.

15

Acceptance or Refusal of Gifts

Love Well Spent may decline a proposed donation when accepting it would be inconsistent with our charitable mission, create unreasonable legal or financial risk, impose obligations the organization cannot responsibly fulfill, or otherwise be inappropriate for the organization.

Love Well Spent may also decline proposed restrictions, conditions, property, technology, or other non-cash gifts that cannot reasonably be accepted or used.

16

Changes to These Terms

Love Well Spent may update these Donation Terms as our programs, campaigns, payment systems, giving platforms, operations, or legal requirements change.

The effective or last-updated date displayed on this page will reflect the most recent revision.

17

When asking about a financial transaction, please do not send complete payment-card numbers or other unnecessary sensitive financial information by email.
