digital access grant: apply for a device
Bridging the digital divide for homeschool families across the U.S.

about the Digital Access Grant
The Digital Access Grant (DAG) is Love Well Spent's flagship program providing refurbished laptops, tablets, and digital tools to homeschool families navigating barriers to education, employment, and safety.
We started DAG in 2023 with a single moment: a donation of 50 laptops arrived at the same time we saw a Facebook post from a homeschool mom in a domestic violence situation who needed a computer to survive. The match was obvious. The harder question — who else? — became this program.
Seven years later, we've placed devices with homeschool families across 18 states, partnered with the National Digital Inclusion Alliance, and as of 2026, joined the Computers 4 People Partner Network to expand the device pipeline serving our families.
We prioritize:
- Single-parent households
- Families raising students with special needs
- Families experiencing housing instability, safety concerns, or financial hardship
- Underserved homeschool communities nationally

how it works
The Digital Access Grant is Love Well Spent's program for placing refurbished laptops with homeschool families who need them.
As of 2026, we operate in partnership with Computers 4 People, joining a national network of 400+ organizations expanding digital access across the country. Through this partnership, devices are sourced from Computers 4 People's refurbishment program — the largest of its kind in the country — and placed with families we've vetted and nominated.

who can apply
You're welcome to apply if:
- Your family is homeschooling or planning to homeschool
- You have students between the ages of 5–18 (or care for them)
- You're navigating a financial, safety, or accessibility barrier to technology
- You're located in the United States
You don't need to prove hardship. We trust families to know their own needs.
know before you apply
A few things to know up front so you can make the best decision for your family:
- Devices come from inventory. Computers 4 People is the largest nonprofit refurbisher in the country, but their inventory varies. They cannot guarantee a delivery timeline.
- Devices ship to us, then to you. This adds 5–7 business days to the timeline but allows us to provide setup support and a welcome message.
- Devices come with a 90-day functionality guarantee from Computers 4 People. This does not cover drops, spills, or lost or stolen devices.
- If your need is immediate, we encourage you to also explore Human-I-T or PCs for People as additional resources. Multiple paths increase your odds.
